This highly visible position reports to the Finance & Accounting Director and provides support to the SHUSA CEO, CFO, Controller, Board of Trustees, and the parent company in Madrid. Responsible for conducting and documenting complex financial analysis projects. This is the most senior skill level without supervisory responsibility. Position may provide functional advice or training to less-experienced financial analyst positions. The analyst will need to work with all Santander US Entities, Santander Bank Business Units, and Madrid to help provide the monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reporting packages for senior and executive managers at Santander US. Leverages available technologies to develop and maintain various reports and analysis to support profitability and MIS functions. Performs varied work assignments independently with minimal supervision. This position requires attention to detail, advanced technology skills, data integrity, and the ability to analyze results in order to provide decision support.

  • Assist in developing various reporting packages for the Controller, CFO, CEO and Board of Santander US

  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of the reports, along with commentary to be able to explain the results

  • Work with Santander Bank, NA business units along with all US Entities including Santander Consumer, Puerto Rico, and Miami, to gain knowledge and deliver the results by the deadlines

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting and analysis for the parent company in Madrid, Spain; Be able to explain and highlight the US results

  • Improve upon current processes with the use of existing technology in order to create reports that are more streamlined and accurate

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Essbase, Smartview, HFM, or any other new product roll-outs as needed

  • Document & audit procedures involved in creating the reports

  • Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to executives as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 5+ years of experience in bank reporting and analysis

  • Strong computer skills, advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint are a must

  • Hyperion Essbase or Smartview experience are a plus

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Able to handle and complete multiple tasks within a given timeframe efficiently and accurately

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships throughout the organization

  • Prior experience with Senior Management and Board reporting preferred
