Manages aspects of the Compliance Risk Assessment in support of the ongoing Compliance Risk Assessment process and oversight of the US subsidiaries. Provides a US view of the Compliance Risks across the US. Will advise and guide the subsidiaries as they undergo their Compliance Risk Assessments. Roll-up of aggregated Compliance Risk Results to Group. Will also participate in the work for developing Risk Controls Self-Assessment across the US for first line of defense and integrating into the Risk Assessment. Will manage aspects of the 2ndLine Compliance Testing oversight process to include oversight and guidance to the US subsidiaries, tracking and reporting. As part of our oversight responsibilities; will often review, provide challenge, feedback and opinion as to quality of subsidiary coverage and deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Constructs informative reports/presentations summarizing high level issues for various levels of management and process owners with the purpose of negotiating appropriate reaction/change to mitigate risks.

  • Works with Compliance Risk Assessment, 2ndLine Compliance Testing and other Ad Hoc reviews to improve programs and assure alignment to the Santander US standards.

  • Suggests and facilitates enhancements to the 2ndLine Compliance Testing and Compliance Risk Assessment programs as part of the continuous cycle of improvement

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; Master’s degree a plus

  • Compliance certifications such as CRCM a plus

  • 10+ years’ experience; demonstrated expertise in Regulatory Compliance, Consumer Compliance, Compliance auditing, Risk Assessment, Compliance Assurance

  • Ability to develop and implement creative strategies to strengthen regulatory controls

  • Excellent analytical and project management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication and presentation skills

  • Outstanding leadership and management skills

  • Working knowledge of banking operations, policies, and procedures in addition to banking products/services

  • Strong knowledge of federal banking compliance regulations
