I. POSITION SUMMARY

Describe the basic function/primary purpose of the position.

Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Compliance Analyst coordinate aspects of CRA compliance and reporting at Santander Bank, N.A. This position has specific responsibility for performing compiling, analyzing and reporting of bank-wide CRA activity.Additionally, the CRA compliance analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining databases used to monitor the Bank's lending, identify geographic or quantitative gaps in lending performance and develop solutions to improve performance.The candidate should have the ability and desire to work effectively in a start-up paced environment and culture and be able to communicate effectively with diverse internal and external resources.

Compile and analyze lending, economic and demographic data for the purpose of monitoring and reporting on bank-wide CRA performance. Identify and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets summarizing results for downstream and upstream users.

Design, implement and maintain databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize efficiency and quality of data analysis and reporting.

Prepare and design ongoing reporting summarizing CRA performance results and associated compliance risk for use by first line business partners and executive management.

Perform control reviews on data used for CRA performance monitoring. Includes file reviews based on established sampling methodologies and regulatory expectations. Develop root cause analysis and make recommendations to management for addressing issues identified in control reviews.

Assist in annual CRA self-assessment including creation of assessment area lending and economic reporting and analysis

Stay abreast of changes to regulations, exam guidelines, and policies/procedures of assigned business lines(s). Maintain proficiency in software tools necessary to maintain databases and complete requisite analysis (loan origination platforms, SAS, etc.).

Participate in the preparation for and management of internal audits and CRA examinations including collecting documents and materials from internal partners

Education

(HS Diploma, Under/Graduate Degree, etc.)

BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics

Business Experience

(prior years work/related experience)

Proven experience as a database architect, analyst, or related field

Experience designing and implementing databases or data collection systems is required

Travel

Travel may be required (5%) throughout the Bank’s footprint (8 Northeast states)

IV. SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

Identify specific knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for satisfactory execution of the position’s primary duties & responsibilities.

(i.e. If a position duty/responsibility is to “market and sell products and services to customers”, then the specialized knowledge would be “skilled in building relationships with customers and in selling”.)

Technical expertise regarding database design, development and implementation. Mastery of Microsoft Excel and Access is required. Experience with SAS, SQL XML is preferred. Relevant database development or management experience is welcome.

Knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, etc.) databases (SQL, Etc), programming (XML) is a plus

Skilled in analyzing, summarizing and presenting complex data in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including executive management. Able to understand and conceptualize quantitative analysis techniques.

Demonstrated problem solving and influencing skills. Ability to apply logic, develop and support conclusions, and make practical recommendations to lines of business.

Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple objectives in a time-sensitive manner

Self-motivated; willingness to learn additional skills and gain experience in regulatory compliance
