Distribution Planning and GIS Analyst - 1803963
The Distribution Planning and Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) Analyst supports the enterprise geospatial information systems that are utilized to develop long term business strategies for Customer facing businesses.
Performs professional level duties utilizing strong cartographic and data management skills, including the development and delivery of GIS information products, data and services, data management and mapping, including map production from custom software applications, GIS software technical support, data collection and reformatting.
Designs and monitors programs and procedures for users and performs spatial and other data analysis for special projects and performing quality assurance and quality control activities. Utilizes tools to define a project and establish work flows, processes, and methods to troubleshoot and problem solve non-routine issues, and to determine and apply the most appropriate information and functionality to accomplish the project objectives.
Supports Branch Transformation strategy by developing spatial analysis and complex models and methodologies to analyze complex distribution planning actions and plans.
Utilizes GIS software to design, update and maintain project and geographic point databases
Works with a variety of software and databases to leverage demographic, marketing and competitor data
Supports Branch Transformation work flows by managing data driven tools to support planning models and analysis
Identifies opportunities to improve responsiveness, effectiveness and efficiency, through innovative research, defined architectures, planning, and optimal use of technology
Assists multiple project teams with the evaluation of data from outside resources and quality control of maps and datasets
Responsible for compiling data from various source materials, digital cartographic editing, custom map production, and performing quality assurance
Collaborates with outside agencies and other departments to develop and maintain processes for handling spatial data, collection and map requests. Act as a consultant to internal customers using spatially-enabled databases
Provides input in discussions concerning GIS best practices and ideas to improve day to day operations
Provides immediate response to emergency mapping situations and requests
Education: Minimum- Bachelor Degree (preferably in Geospatial Information Systems, Geography, Cartography, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, CAD or a directly related field from an accredited college or university). Master’s or other Post Graduate degree preferred
License/Certificates: GISP (Geographic Information Systems Professional) certification is preferred, but not required
Three to five years of related work experience
Experience with the production, editing and maintenance of datasets.
Experience with interpreting, integrating, and managing large spatial imagery datasets.
Proficient in ArcGIS, ArcMap, Business Analyst, Network Analyst, MapInfo Professional or other recognized ESRI, Pitney Bowes or Open Source tool set to develop, import, export and maintain spatial datasets required.
Knowledge of SQL, Python, VBA and spatial data functions, procedures and databases preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio and Project required. Good technical writing and presentation skills required.
