As a member of Santander’s retail banking division you’ll help serve Santander’s retail and small business customers as part of one of the top banks in the United States based on deposits. With principal presence in the northeast U.S., Santander’s retail division offers consumer and lending products to help our customers reach their financial goals. Santander currently serves nearly 2 million retail customers and 5.2% of the 2.7 million small businesses in the US footprint have a transactional account with Santander Bank.

Responsibilities:

The Marketing Program Manager is responsible for managing multi-channel programs that drive customer engagement and behavior across all Santander products and services. Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Primary owner for multiple marketing programs and activities across lines of business (specific programs may focus on acquisition, x-sell and customer engagement). Accountable for program performance against specific KPIs

  • Leverage new and existing marketing technologies and capabilities to improve program performance

  • Drive the test and learn agenda at a program level across campaign cycles

  • Apply best practices from within and outside the retail banking industry

  • Manage external and internal partners/agencies critical to effective program execution

  • Monitor campaign performance and identify opportunities to optimize program effectiveness and efficiency

  • Colleague Engagement: Constructively contribute and collaborate with colleagues in Marketing to increase overall employee engagement

  • Coach and mentor peers on the effective use of engagement marketing to achieve business objectives

  • Performance Management: Monitor, evaluate and report on campaign results and tests across all portfolios to ensure key acquisitions Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are being met

  • Practice Evolution: Work with the SVP, Direct Marketing Campaign Director to evolve the direct marketing and 1:1 practice within Santander

  • Identify, scope, and implement new programs and activities that can advance the use of direct marketing within Santander

  • Evangelize the use of 1:1 marketing and application of best practices within Marketing and across the organization 15%,10 discrete marketing programs

  • Work with the Marketing Product leads and Marketing Operations to align campaign design to agreed-upon business objectives with the lines of business within Consumer and Business Banking (CBB)

  • Ensure all activities are aligned with overall branding efforts

  • Collaborate with Product and Channel teams on offer creation and implementation

  • Partner with the Analytics and Decision Sciences (ADS) team to ensure best practice data selections for campaigns and high quality data management protocols are upheld by 3rd party providers

  • Program Planning and Execution: Coordinate work through internal and external agencies

  • Manage total campaign costs in accordance with budgets

  • Risk and Compliance: Partner with colleagues in Legal, Risk and Compliance to ensure all activities adhere to documented police and procedures for direct marketing campaigns

Qualifications

  • Strong written and presentation skills required

  • 5-10 years relevant work experience in CRM and/or customer engagement marketing

  • Ability to solve practical problems, applying critical thinking and a meticulous attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment working with multiple cross-functional teams

  • Experience with customer onboarding, engagement and retention marketing

  • Knowledge of campaign automation and personalization technologies (e.g. IBM Unica/Campaign, SAS, Adobe, etc.)

  • Strong influence/relationship management skills required

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Understands how to capture and communic

  • Knowledge of financial services preferred
