As a member of the Technology organization you will be part of the team that serves the needs of SHUSA and SBNA to oversee and monitor the implementation of Risk project portfolio (second line of defense) within the CIO Risk organization.
The CIO Risk Platforms function supports the technological aspects of the Banks overall Risk Management functions, including Credit Risk, Market Risk, Operational Risk, and Model Risk areas. The area is also critical in assuring compliance with key regulatory reporting requirements.
The candidate is also expected to work with other teams in the bank for BAU maintenance of risk systems.
Responsible for performing senior professional level business systems analysis and management activities which include planning, designing, implementing and maintaining business applications and IT systems
As a Project Manager in the CIO Risk area, the candidate will work with Credit Risk / Market Risk / Operational Risk business users in the definition of project scope, business requirements, process analysis and prioritization
Manage the IT aspects of projects and coordinate application software implementation and upgrades within Santander’s IT unit, Architecture teams and external vendors, preparing work plans, timelines and executive summary reporting
Assure technical support problem resolution related to business application software systems through cooperative relationship with technical support services
Monitor Risk project milestones and report project progress to management, working closely with technical staff, vendors, and the business to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects
Participate in a variety of meetings, groups, and committees to communicate and confer about analysis of existing procedures and systems, discuss the roll-out of new projects and software upgrades, and discuss other applicable issues
Create and maintains standards, procedures, and documentation related to area of responsibility
Participate in audits, Internal Risk Analysis, vendor management, ensuring a compliant, secure processing environment that protects the integrity and availability of information
Assess business requirements, analyze structure and flow of work and data that support needs, as well as evaluate possible solutions and implements or recommends solutions that satisfy the business requirements
Oversee system changes and access to systems and information utilizing approved information technology security policies, standards and guidelines
Define testing and development environment suitable for testing and evaluation of new technologies
Prepare presentations for senior management and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization to ensure project success and user needs are identified and met
Bachelors or Equivalent
At least 7 years of banking experience, preferably with experience in risk projects. At least 3 years of project management experience.
Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, Systems Implementation, Management of Implementation projects
PMP certification is a plus but not required.
Financial / Risk certification is a plus (CFA, FRM, etc.)
Project management in financial institutions, preferably in the Risk area
