The Technology Team supports the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of all banking systems. This team has the expertise and commitment to develop high-quality solutions to meet the needs of a fast-paced and complex operating environment.

Responsibilities:

The Senior PMO - Program Manager is responsible for the management (planning, organizing and implementation) of large complex strategic programs. These programs are typically highly visible initiatives with significant impact on business or product viability and ranging across multiple disciplines, businesses, and/or organizations.

  • Advances the organizational strategic and business objectives through the alignment and integration of all programs and projects under their purview, and the coordinated management of all Program and Project Managers (who may be responsible to the Program Manager II for the execution of their project and its impact on the program) to monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance of component projects and operations, while working to ensure the ultimate success of the program(s)

  • Manages stakeholder and executive level sponsor expectations, as well as the requirements of external governing and oversight bodies

  • Responsible for defining program resource requirements and serves as the key program day-to-day operational interface between all Program stakeholders

  • Reports on the health and overall program efforts with sound metrics and analytics

  • Facilitates Steering Committee and/or Executive Committee level program team status meetings and all other communications

  • Accountable for the project management process and project management deliverables for all assigned Programs

  • Oversees and may contribute to the development of project definition and scope at the project level

  • Monitors key milestones and outcomes of responsible projects in the program(s) throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to established quality standards

  • Conducts Program team meetings with Project Managers to ensure appropriate communication and alignment

  • Develops Program level presentations, dashboards, reports and other team and executive level project communications and documentation.

  • Consistently aligns projects with corporate strategy and leverages efficiencies, sharing and allocating resources across one or more Programs

  • Accountable for completion of all project deliverables within Program and ensures completion and communication of Risk mitigation plans, critical path and dependencies, Project Recovery and Business Continuity Plans, etc)

  • Documents and communicates Program changes, health and status to project teams, Business Owners and Executive Sponsors

  • Responsible for accurate and timely reporting against the Program and budget in line with appropriate governance

  • Responsible for all aspects of the team member life cycle, including recruitment, coaching, development and performance management

  • Emulates and ensures adherence to Santander Bank proj. mgmt. standards through the consistent application of recognized project and program management processes; ensure discipline and controls are consistently applied to projects from initiation

  • Supports strategic priorities and execute as a thought leader/resource for senior management

  • Provides accurate and timely reporting against program deliverables

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 12 years of experience as a Program Manager or a combination of formal project and program management experience totaling a minimum of 12 years in a complex matrixed organization.

  • At least 8 years relevant financial services experience preferred; Knowledge of functional area may be required.

  • PMP Certification required; PgMP Certification preferred

  • Ability to think both tactically and strategically moving through both fluidly

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong collaborative business and technology relationships; recognizes organizational limitations and uses corporate culture and resources to eliminate barriers when possible

  • Ability to research, interpret and incorporate industry and other best practices

  • Superior communication, problem-solving and decision making skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization

  • Demonstrated experience engaging the support and resources of others to achieve program goals and objectives; influencing with and without authority

  • Able to manage all aspects of multiple projects, deliverables and timelines

  • Advanced skills in finance, cross-cultural awareness, leadership, communication, influence, negotiation and conflict resolution

  • Proficient with Project and Portfolio Management Tools. (SharePoint, Visio, Excel, MS Project, etc.)

  • Ability to analyze project data, metrics and financials, making data-driven analytical decisions; knowledge of data mining

  • Knowledge and expertise in the use of project management, methodologies and tools (i.e. Agile, SDLC, SCRUM, Waterfall, Iterative)

  • Understanding, application, and ability to articulate industry project management principles, theories, and concepts
