Description

Santander has an opening for a Human Resources Business Partner to join the team. The individual will provide HR consulting and recruitment services to the business line and act as a resource to line management while delivering HR solutions to various line requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and recommends new or revised HR policies and practices.

  • Ensures consistent application of policy and procedure and participates in appropriate training/roll out to the field.

  • Consults with legal counsel as needed for complex employee relations or employment issues and represents the organization in agency complaints and unemployment hearings

  • Serves as primary business partner to line of business managers and team members for designated area of the organization, managing employee relations issues such as dispute resolution, discipline communications, reward and recognition practices, etc.

  • Ensures consistent fair and equitable treatment of team members and effectively manages the risk to the organization. Coordinates with line managers to assure adherence to policies for initiating staffing and disciplinary decisions.

  • Partners with line managers to attain optimal organizational design by effectively managing staffing models and performance management through performance improvement and corrective action processes.

  • Provides management to team of Human Resources professionals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; 10 years related experience; with prior leadership experience preferred. PHR/SPHR Certification helpful but not required

  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with managers at multiple levels as well as with external agencies.

  • Demonstrated experience in working with business lines and other Human Resources disciplines to deliver customized solution

  • Knowledge of applicable HR employment laws and their application in various states of the organizational footprint.

  • Strong management and leadership competency.

  • Strong overall business acumen with an ability to understand the direction and goals of the business and provide the human resources support necessary in order for the business unit to achieve their respective goals.
