Overview:

Responsible for the specialized businesses credit risk management activities. Provides senior leadership, overall supervision, direction and guidance to assigned business. In line with Credit Risk model, leads oversight of Credit Policy and regulatory compliance and controls for assigned business. Manage partnerships with Specialized Businesses and other business line partners. Works with the Director, Market Risk in developing and implementing performance objectives, policies, programs and strategic risk management business plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the quality, integrity and soundness of all financial analysis, underwriting and credit approval processes for an assigned portfolio within the region.

  • Works strategically with the business development teams to achieve business objectives.

  • Enforces Credit Policy compliance, regulatory and legal compliance, credit transaction integrity and completeness of all transactions within a Credit Team.

  • Manages productivity, procedures, standards and compliance with Credit Policy and Best Practices.

  • Manages credit approval process within specialized business unit.

  • Manages the specialized business portfolios to maintain asset quality at budgeted NPA % and delinquencies % while handling deteriorating situations.

  • Ensures adherence to the Credit Risk Model & Credit Policies for the specialized business group.

  • Manages a Credit Team consisting of underwriters, analysts & officers overseeing Credit and Risk management.

  • Trains and coaches staff providing guidance, direction and mentoring.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent work experience

  • 15 years’ experience

  • 5+ years managing a large team

Specialized Knowledge/Technical Skills:

  • Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization to obtain cooperation and to foster a business environment that is based upon mutual respect and teamwork

  • Completion of a formal credit training program

  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of Credit Policies, procedures, regulations and applicable law

  • Knowledge of complex credit transactions

  • Demonstrated track record of managing a team of strong individual contributors, interacting with Executive level management and working within a team environment to manage the specialized credit unit

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft software package, Word, Excel & Outlook

  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
